Design Engineer
Design Engineer 3 sought by ASML in Wilton, CT, to integrate "off-the-shelf" robotics into capital equipment, developing all related aspects such as dynamics, end effector design, & controls with the cross sector team. Ph.D. degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a closely-related field; mechatronics engineering background or specialization in closely-related areas such as robotics or other fields; knowledge of &/or experience troubleshooting legacy designs to determine potential risks, failure modes, & corrective actions; basic knowledge of &/or experience with mechatronics behavior predictive modeling & methods, including "first principle" engineering equations & other techniques; strong skills in proof of concept development & design of experiments for a wide range of project needs; knowledge of &/or experience running complex mechatronic systems for test & qualification of design changes; knowledge of &/or experience deriving conclusions from analysis & to make practical recommendations; strong technical writing & communication skills, including the ability to present results based on strong statistical evidence to audiences of a wide range of technical abilities; & between 10-25% domestic & international travel required.
