THE CI SUPERVISOR is Responsible for driving the development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of Continuous Improvement initiatives. Primary function will include collecting production data, analyzing outputs, and determining corrective courses of action to promote safety, quality, and efficiency within the manufacturing process. 

The CAD Technician will support the Product Development and engineering group projects by creating technical drawings, documentation, and work instructions required for the manufacture of furniture and vehicle seating products. Project support will include but is not limited to: assisting during design/prototype development, collaborating with other departments, communicating with outside suppliers, and participating in manufacturing pilot runs. This position will also support existing product lines by maintaining or improving previously developed product designs and documentation.

The PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERING MANAGER is Responsible for providing leadership in the development of new products, implementing design-driven quality improvements and improving the overall cost of our existing product lines through simplification and value engineering. Directs the teams that are responsible new product development from the designer’s sketch to approval of prototype model and then into production using the Flexsteel product development process. Develops and guides the efforts to find the most efficient ways to standardize and platform Flexsteel’s products. Actively consults with other engineering disciplines, procurement and operations to achieve best total cost of our product lines – both new and existing.  

The PRODUCT DESIGN ENGINEER will be directly involved in all stages of New Product Introduction projects from concept generation to product launch. This position will also drive the improvement in quality and cost of existing product lines. The primary responsibilities of the Product Design Engineer will include, but are not limited to, designing, prototyping, and validating new products, specifying materials and manufacturing processes for new or existing designs, and collaborating with other departments to meet project goals and objectives.

The PACKAGING ENGINEER will be directly involved in the development of packaging solutions for new and existing product lines. This position will also provide support for the optimization and value engineering of existing packaging materials, methods, and instructions. The primary responsibilities of the Packaging Engineer will include but are not limited to: designing, prototyping, and validating new packaging solutions, specifying packaging materials and processes for new or existing designs, and collaborating with other departments to meet project goals and objectives.
