POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking a Simulation Education Coordinator to join our team of professionals.

Duties include:

  • Coordinates Clinical Skills Capstone courses and related Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE)s, including scheduling, keeping track of events, assigning faculty per session, and faculty needs per session. Prepares course sessions, which may include setting up computers, preparing handouts and necessary equipment, and grouping students.
  • Responsible for organizing, tracking, and maintaining an electronic repository of all curricular materials. Ensures receipt of adequately completed evaluation forms and assignments. Ensures completion of and maintenance of grade book. Provides currency of course website materials and announcements, including the syllabus tracks remediation of absences, missing assignments, and other student issues.
  • Coordinates requests and preparation of simulation sessions/activities for internal and external affiliates as well as monitors and runs OSCEs sessions and events. Creates educational management solutions (EMS) sessions and keeps and records incident reports.
  • Coordinates set up and break down of simulation activities, data analysis of assessment and sessions as well as coordinates weekly meetings with the clinical skills team to ensure smooth operations of the clinical skills courses.
  • Provides logistics coordination for student Interest groups. Schedules activities, track events, and communicates effectively with students and faculty. Makes reservations for meeting locations and coordinates any necessary equipment.
  • Assists with scheduling sessions and preparing training for the Ultrasound Technologist (Per Diem) Pool. Assists with recruiting and hiring.
  • Coordinates administrative functions and provides administrative support to the leadership team of the Albert and Debbie Tano Medical Simulation Center.
  • Establishes and maintains close contact with university departments to ensure coordination of effort and exchange of information. Facilitates the workflow for the department and provides follow-up on pending actions. Coordinates the initial intake of new simulation activities for P4, Clinical Skills Courses I & II, Master in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS), and student interest groups. Schedules meetings with the Directors and stakeholders to establish priorities and maximize time while maintaining best practices in simulation practices.
  • Coordinates simulation sessions for MPAS, including logistics of student and faculty groupings, preparation of other necessary simulation-related materials, event tracking, and budget projections.
  • Assists with the set logistics and operations of other Simulation Centers activities, including Tours and other events as needed.
  • Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, public health emergencies, and/or any other university emergency closing. The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.
  • Performs related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of appropriate experience, or Master's degree.
