Community Academic Coordinator – Social Work

The George Mason University Department of Social Work is seeking applications for the position of Community Academic Coordinator. This position is a part-time position (up to 29 hours per week). Responsibilities include a variety of educational and administrative services for BSW, MSW, and field education programs.

Responsibilities include:

• Training and support of field education instructors, liaisons, and students;
• Support of community development and engagement of partners, alumni, and prospective students via online platforms and continuing education efforts;
• Assistance with orientation programming for students, faculty, and practicum representatives; and
• Complete programmatic and curricular tasks assigned by the Field Education Director.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Social Work or related field; and
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.

Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Must have professional attitude, excellent organization and communication skills, mature outlook, and be self-motivated;
• Must be able to independently complete tasks, be detail-oriented, and able to multi-task; and
• Excellent organizational and time management skills including being highly organized and detail oriented.
