Job Summary

This position includes the responsibility of providing technical support to the campus network. This position provides support for the campus resident network and the campus wireless network. This position is responsible for assisting the Network Coordinator with configuration, problem-resolution, documentation, and management of the physical, logical and logistical components of the campus network. This position provides support for provider network services for applications such as e-mail, on-line classes/distance education, registration, administrative database access, web access, etc.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge of network communication technology including Cisco routers and switches is required. In addition, knowledge of various types of data communications cabling such as fiber optics, and twisted pair cable is also required. The position requires knowledge of computer/network security. Knowledge of wireless networking is also required.
Requires knowledge of computer hardware, software and operating systems and the ability to maintain and repair (in depth, beyond the scope of plug-and play) a wide variety of servers, desktop and laptop computers, and peripherals. Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent networking experience required.
