Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the daily processing of invoices and reconciling vendor statements.
This position includes accounts payable, sales audit, month end reconciliations of general ledger accounts and assisting with sales and use tax reports.
Job Duties:
- Perform daily sales audit responsibilities to ensure all sales and deposits are accurate and complete.
- Review and code operating invoices and prepare weekly check runs.
- Perform month-end close duties associated with sales audit, accounts receiveable, accounts payable which will include preparing journal entries and completing account reconciliations.
- Research and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain procedure documentation, and review processes to identify areas of improvement.
- Prepare various monthly reports and analysis for ownership and management.
- Maintain Accounts payable and sales audit files.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless communication and processes are established for smooth operation of the day - to - day business.
- Sales Tax Reconciliation.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or relevant experience.
- 2+ years progressive accounting experience or related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with GP Dynamics or other accounting software.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience in the Retail sector preferred.
- Experience in Food and Beverage a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
