Great Plains Conference has an exciting opportunity to work in a rewarding non-profit setting. We’re seeking a Staff Accountant/Analyst to work in our headquarters location in the Finance Department. You must be detail oriented, dependable, a team player, and a self-starter. This position requires good communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people when completing work assignments.
You will be expected to:
- Maintain and review general ledger.
- Compile and analyze month-end and year-end reports.
- Act as an advisor to site boards in formulating annual budgets.
- Develop, implement and train staff on proper accounting procedures.
- Oversee processing of donations, fees, etc.,
- Reconcile cash accounts and enter corresponding deposits.
- Prepare vouchers and verify/approve payment of authorized disbursements.
- Assist with payroll processing for approximately 150 employees.
- Provide financial support to the Controller and assist with preparation of the annual audit.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (required)
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, not-for-profit accounting a plus.
- Knowledgeable in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office and accounting software (Shelby V5 a plus)
