Smart Start of Mecklenburg County is hiring a Pre-K Specialist to assist with the implementation of the newly funded county pre-kindergarten expansion.
This experienced early care and education professional will report to the Meck Pre-K Director and will provide technical assistance, coordination, and monitoring to Pre-K community sites. Qualified individual will have bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development or related field and three (3) years related experience and/or training in child care program environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. B-K certification desired. Must have understanding of current theory and practices of group child care and best practices for young children, a working knowledge of NC Division of Child Development and Early Education regulations, knowledge of adult learning strategies and adult education systems, knowledge of the ECERS-R, and knowledge of Classroom Assessment and Scoring System (CLASS). Must hold a current Early Educator Certification (EEC) level 11 or higher on the Early Care and Educations (ECE) scale and hold a current Technical Assistance endorsement (TAE).
