Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Serves and assists diners in serving themselves at the buffet line.
- Carries plates of food for handicap customers.
- Takes and delivers beverage orders as guests are seated; provides refills as necessary.
- Removes empty plates as guests re-visit the buffet lines.
- Replenishes tableware as necessary.
- Cleans and resets tables after guests leave, cleaning the table tops, chair seats, and ensuring the floor area surrounding the table is free of debris.
- Keeps stations fully stocked with silverware, condiments, coffee, drinks, cups, etc.
- Keeps trays clean and ready for use at all times. Washes and dries all serving trays on a daily basis.
- Restocks ice bins before opening and during operations.
- Assists with special projects as directed by the supervisor including, monthly meetings, special banquets, concerts, and special guests.
- Notifies immediate supervisor of any problems or concerns.
- Maintains cleanliness, organization and preparedness of immediate workspace and adjacent areas.
- Maintains personal appearance. Reports to work in a clean uniform; if not dressed properly, may be sent home.
- No eating, smoking, or chewing gum on the floor.
- Performs additional job-related duties as assigned by their supervisor/management.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum six (6) months restaurant experience required.
- Must have good basic mathematical, organizational and communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Must present a neat, clean, and well groomed appearance in accordance with departmental policy.
- Must be reliable, pleasant and possess a good attitude.
- Must have a warm, inviting and engaging personality and be comfortable in an entertainment setting.
- Must possess excellent customer service and communications skills.
- Must be able to maintain service standards in sometimes-difficult situations.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Gaming Commission, may be required to obtain and maintain a San Manuel gaming license.
- Must obtain and maintain a current Food Handler’s Card and negative T.B. test.

- Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled gaming facility.
- Work hours and days may vary to meet business needs. Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment where responsiveness and customer service are highly valued.
- Employee may be exposed to highly stressful situations where a great deal of tact and diplomacy is necessary.
- Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone.
- Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, and over the telephone.
- Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, or to make general observations of facilities, guests and employees. Use close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Strength sufficient to frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Work requires intermittent sitting, standing and/or stooping as well as bending, crouching or stooping.
- Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are: balancing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, repetitive motions.
- Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
- The employee will experience moderate noise levels.
- The employee will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
