The Key Services Shop is responsible for security of all building doors, safes, vaults, files and locking devices, and grand master key systems through installation, maintenance and repair of a wide range of locking mechanisms and related hardware. The Access Services Shop is responsible for security of all electronic access controlled doors and associated electronic components, and managing the video surveillance platform and intrusion systems integrated with electronic access to CCTV.
Under general supervision diagnoses problems, performs repair and other forms of maintenance of complex electronic access control equipment and instruments.
Job Duties Include:
- Calibrates and adjusts electronic access control equipment to insure optimum performance
- Maintains inventory and recommends order materials, components and supplies.
- Documents circuits with schematics, data and graphs to describe and illustrate system’s operating characteristics.
- Assists other employees in related electronic access control work, as required.
- Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on electronic access control equipment.
Valid Driver’s license is required and ability to meet and maintain UI Fleet Safety driving Standards.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements
Graduation from a two-year resident electronics trade school, or any combination of training and experience from which comparable knowledge and ability can be acquired.
Desirable Qualifications
- NICET certification
- State Alarm Installers License
- Valid electrical license
- Ability to maintain a professional and respectable demeanor with staff and customers that fosters good relations
- Ability to adapt, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks
- Intermediate to proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior customer service experience
- Valid Driver’s license is required and ability to meet and maintain UI Fleet Safety driving Standards.
